Job description

Server

Location: St. Petersburg, FL

Type: Part Time / Full Time | Reports to: Front of House Manager

Compensation: $11/hour + tips

Welcome to St. Pete Athletic.

We’re not just operating a club—we’re building a community, a standard, and a vibe. Think urban country club. St. Pete Athletic is where sport, hospitality, and social energy collide. With 14 pickleball courts, 2 padel courts, dedicated table tennis spaces, a full-service restaurant and bar, and amenities ranging from coworking to wellness to a garden oasis—it’s a place to play, connect, and belong.

But our real secret? Hospitality. The kind you feel, not just see. We believe in creating moments that surprise and delight. And we’re looking for Guest Service Concierges who live and breathe that philosophy.

The Opportunity

As a Server, you are the heartbeat of the member and guest experience—seamlessly delivering elevated hospitality across courtside service, coffee bar, dining, clubhouse, and events. You’ll anticipate needs before they’re spoken, engage members with warmth and confidence, and ensure every touchpoint reflects the high standards of St. Pete Athletic.

This is a role for someone with poise, energy, and adaptability—able to move fluidly between settings while collaborating closely with culinary, beverage, retail, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Luxury Guest Engagement

  • Welcome members and guests warmly, using names when known, and escort them to courtside, coffee bar, or dining.
  • Act as a brand ambassador, confidently communicating club offerings, upcoming events, and membership benefits.
  • Be a host on the court—assisting new players, promoting sportsmanship, and helping create a fun, safe environment.
  • Anticipate needs before being asked—offering refills, towels, or menu previews to elevate the experience.
  • Recognize and engage VIP members and frequent guests, recalling preferences and personalizing service.
  • Resolve guest concerns with empathy and urgency, using service recovery tools and escalating when needed.

Service Excellence

  • Accurately take and input orders for courtside service, coffee bar items, and dining menus.
  • Serve all food and beverages with attention to presentation, timing, and classic service techniques.
  • Upsell seasonal dishes, wine pairings, and retail products through informed, genuine recommendations.
  • Support private events with setup, tray passing, beverage service, and breakdown.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of menu items, ingredients, brewing methods, wines, and spirits.

Operational Readiness & Cleanliness

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness across service stations, coffee bar, lobby seating, towels, hydration stations, lockers, and restrooms.
  • Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing duties including restocking, side work, and cleanliness checks.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between courtside, dining, coffee bar, and events with clear communication.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and event teams to ensure precise timing and fulfillment of guest requests.
  • Communicate clearly with staff via radio or handoffs to maintain service continuity.
  • Use software systems to streamline operations and personalize the guest experience.
  • Mentor new team members to uphold service standards and culture.
  • Attend pre-shift briefings to review VIPs, menu updates, and event details.

Standards & Safety

  • Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines; report incidents immediately.
  • Remain calm and professional in emergencies, assisting with guest safety or evacuation.
  • Complete required training on service standards, menus, and safety within designated timelines.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, carry trays/items up to 30 lbs, and work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.

Who You Are

  • You thrive in fast-paced, hospitality-driven environments.
  • You’re polished, approachable, and attentive to detail.
  • You love making people feel welcome and cared for.
  • You’re adaptable, willing to jump in wherever needed—from courtside to cocktail service.
  • You see hospitality as an art form, not just a job.

Our Promise to You

At St. Pete Athletic, we want this to be one of the best jobs you’ve ever had. That means:

  • A supportive team culture built on kindness, excellence, and joy.
  • Opportunities to learn across multiple areas of hospitality.
  • The chance to be part of a community that values connection as much as service.
  • Complimentary access to select club experiences and amenities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $11/hour + tips.
  • Opportunity to enroll in company health insurance plans.
  • Flexible scheduling (part-time or full-time).
  • Opportunities for advancement in an opening club.
  • Employee discount for club membership (includes F&B and retail preferred pricing).

Sound Like You? Let’s Talk.

If you’re ready to join the team that’s setting a new bar for hospitality in Tampa Bay, we’d love to meet you.
