A small, dynamic boutique firm with fewer than 10 employees is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join its team. Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for overseeing daily financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role requires proficiency in QuickBooks and includes a wide range of accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, billing, payroll, and reconciliations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a small office setting. Experience in multi-family environments and the ability to shift priorities are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process monthly client billings
- Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments
- Execute client payments, including bills and taxes as needed
- Administer payroll, including tracking time and billable hours
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks
- Reconcile bank and financial accounts regularly
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and financial regulations
- Organize and maintain electronic and paper filing systems
- Collaborate with team members to support general office operations
- Utilize CRM systems such as Zoho (preferred)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper (15 plus years experience) or in a similar accounting role
- Proficiency in QuickBooks is required
- Solid understanding of AR, AP, payroll, and general accounting principles
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with time-tracking software is a plus
