Senior Business Intelligence Developer - Contract
Position Overview
Our client, a large healthcare organization, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise BI solutions. This individual will build scalable data models, pipelines, and dashboards; translate business needs into technical solutions; and help establish best practices across the BI environment.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable business intelligence solutions.
  • Build and maintain ETL processes supporting data transformation, staging, cleansing, and integration.
  • Create complex data models, dimensional schemas, and reporting structures.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators and operational performance.
  • Write and optimize advanced SQL and PL/SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather analytical requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
  • Analyze large and diverse datasets to identify trends, insights, and opportunities.
  • Support data quality, governance, security, and development standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex reporting, data pipeline, and performance issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior BI developers.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes.
  • Evaluate emerging BI technologies and recommend improvements when appropriate.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Approximately eight years of IT experience, with a strong focus on business intelligence, data modeling, reporting, and analytics.
  • Advanced SQL and PL/SQL development skills, including query and database performance optimization.
  • Experience designing and developing ETL processes using SSIS, Talend, or a comparable platform.
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE), Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of data warehousing, OLTP and OLAP models, and dimensional modeling.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and multiple data sources.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Experience working within Agile and Scrum environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other BI developers.
  • Experience leading complex or enterprise-level BI initiatives.
