Job description

Job Summary:
Holland & Knight LLP is a firm dedicated to achieving high standards of performance and success. The Finance Power BI Manager will lead the development and governance of the firm's Power BI capabilities, managing a team and ensuring effective reporting solutions that aid leadership decision-making.
Responsibilities:
• Own the Power BI platform end-to-end, including architecture, data modeling approach, performance, security, and governance.
• Define and enforce Power BI standards, best practices, and development patterns (modeling, DAX, visuals, documentation, deployment).
• Serve as the firm’s Power BI subject-matter expert, capable of answering advanced technical and conceptual Power BI questions.
• Expand, lead, and develop a team of Power BI analysts.
• Set expectations for technical excellence and guide the team toward mastery of Power BI (DAX, data modeling, performance tuning, calculation groups, deployment pipelines).
• Review and coach on complex models and dashboards to ensure quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate business questions into effective Power BI solutions.
• Work with an external partner/vendor to co-develop dashboards, ensuring alignment with internal standards and stakeholder needs.
• Manage Power BI-related vendor relationships, including delivery oversight, prioritization, and quality assurance.
• Coordinate with IT, Financial Systems, Finance, and other teams to align data sources, refresh processes, and security models.
• Lead the transition from Excel- and table-based reporting to Power BI dashboards and semantic models.
• Establish repeatable processes for intake, prioritization, development, deployment, and ongoing support of Power BI assets.
• Drive adoption by improving usability, consistency, and trust in Power BI reporting.
• Expected to maintain a regular and predictable work schedule and full attention to and engagement in work activities on behalf of the firm during business hours unless otherwise approved or required by applicable law.
• Special projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Proven experience managing and developing Power BI analysts or BI developers.
• Strong understanding of semantic model design, performance optimization, and governance.
• Ability to clearly explain complex Power BI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to connect business requirements to scalable Power BI solutions.
• Experience managing stakeholders and delivering in a matrixed environment.
• Actively keeps current with Power BI features, releases, and evolving best practices (“lives and breathes Power BI”).
• Experience leading enterprise-scale Power BI implementations.
• Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric and Azure, including how Power BI integrates with modern cloud data architectures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365.
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years of hands-on Power BI experience, with deep expertise in data modeling, DAX, and enterprise dashboard delivery.
• PL‑300 (Power BI Data Analyst) certification – strongly preferred.
