Job description

The Operations Supervisor is a key role on the Pet Supplies Plus operations team offering the opportunity to launch a rewarding career in Supply Chain Operations at Pet Supplies Plus. This position is part of the operations team and responsible for managing a team of 20 to 25 team members, assisting with replenishment and put away processes.


Operations Supervisor key responsibilities include:

  • Ownership of all assigned supply chain functions assigned, and provides day to day supervision of these areas; including cage items (high value items).
  • Accountable for daily work assignments of all regular and temporary labor to meet or exceed customer SLAs while minimizing labor costs.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to all staff for continual improvement of key functions and activities to improve efficiency and meet increasing customer and business demands.  To ensure all team members are held and follow all company policies and guidelines; coaching, performance review, and counseling when needed.
  • Understanding of/experience with 5S/ Lean/ Six Sigma
  • Understand work load planning to ensure efficient use of labor for operations support in multiple departments.
  • Enforce safety/housekeeping standards to meet AIB standards
  • Ensures labor is balanced across departments as required to meet each days business needs, minimize overtime and reduce labor costs
  • Effectively communicate work task Standard Operating Procedures, convey key information during pre-shift meetings and ensure appropriate shift hand-offs.
  • Recommends layout changes to improve velocity, performance and reduces labor costs.
  • Complies with all OSHA , federal, and state policies that optimizes safety within the facility.

Operations Supervisor requirements include:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 
  • 3-5 years warehousing and distribution experience.
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts/hours.
  • WMS experience, specifically Manhattan WM experience, preferred.
  • Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with PC, RF guns, and printers.
