Production Engineering Manager

The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Fabrication organization is seeking a Production Engineering Manager to join the Fabrication Production Engineering team located in Hazelwood, MO.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of Manufacturing, Industrial and Liaison Engineers supporting part fabrication across multiple Boeing platforms. This role will require the ability to plan, organize and direct activities to meet cost, schedule and performance goals. The manager in this role will guide the day-to-day activities of engineers responsible for production support. The position will partner cross-functionally to accelerate innovation, improve efficiency, and strengthen manufacturing readiness across multiple programs and the site.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in Production Engineering.

  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures.

  • Set operational goals and acquire necessary resources for projects and processes.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Oversee and approve technical approaches, products, and processes.

  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees to achieve high performance.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret clearance post-start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • External candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience).

  • Internal candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership".

  • 1+ years' experience leading multi-disciplined, complex engineering projects and teams across multiple organization

  • 1+ years' experience in assembly, automation, and/or production support

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with military or defense programs

  • Knowledge of Boeing's organizational processes, procedures and policies

  • Demonstrated ability in budget management and business process improvements

  • Familiarity with critical path methodology and project leadership principles

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights
