Job description

Location: Houston, TX
Department: DEPADM
The Opportunity
The HSE Systems & Performance Analyst supports the administration, governance, optimization, and adoption of enterprise HSE systems and performance processes across IMC Manufacturing, CCM Construction, IMC Service, Corporate, and enterprise HSE initiatives. The role translates operational and HSE requirements into practical workflows, system configurations, data standards, reporting requirements, and user support.
This is an HSE business-systems role, not an Information Technology, Business Intelligence, Document Control, or local HSE operations position. The analyst serves as a primary enterprise support resource for HammerTech and other assigned systems while partnering with technical and operational owners to improve system usability, data reliability, implementation visibility, and performance reporting.
What you will do?
HSE Systems Administration & Support
  • Serve as a primary functional support resource for HammerTech and other assigned enterprise HSE systems.
  • Administer approved forms, workflows, user roles, permissions, notifications, reference lists, and functional settings.
  • Maintain configuration records, business rules, issue logs, enhancement requests, testing evidence, and system decisions.
  • Coordinate system releases, upgrades, vendor issues, and approved enhancements with Information Technology and system providers.
  • Escalate recurring failures, material risks, unauthorized changes, and unresolved governance concerns.

Data Quality, Performance & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain data definitions, ownership assignments, validation rules, and minimum quality expectations for assigned HSE information.
  • Monitor data completeness, timeliness, consistency, duplication, and accuracy; coordinate correction of identified gaps.
  • Support development of HSE KPIs, calculation rules, reporting frequencies, source requirements, and data limitations.
  • Prepare business requirements for dashboards, scorecards, recurring reports, and executive summaries.
  • Coordinate with Business Intelligence on technical reporting development and validate outputs against approved HSE definitions.

Workflow Design, Testing & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with HSE program owners and operational stakeholders to understand current-state processes and user needs.
  • Map current- and future-state workflows and identify duplicate entry, unclear ownership, control gaps, and standardization opportunities.
  • Translate HSE requirements into functional requirements for forms, approvals, notifications, reports, and user guidance.
  • Develop acceptance criteria and coordinate user acceptance testing for approved system changes.
  • Distinguish system, process, data, training, and accountability issues before recommending corrective action.

Program Implementation & User Adoption
  • Support implementation tracking for enterprise HSE programs, including milestones, owners, dependencies, evidence requirements, and overdue actions.
  • Monitor HammerTech adoption, utilization, workflow completion, recurring errors, and barriers to sustained use.
  • Develop or coordinate job aids, process diagrams, frequently asked questions, demonstrations, office hours, and release communications.
  • Provide concise systems, data-quality, reporting, and implementation updates to Enterprise HSE leadership.

Cross-Functional Relationships & Ownership Boundaries
The analyst coordinates assigned functional work but does not replace the accountability of the following groups:
  • Enterprise HSE Programs owns HSE business requirements, workflows, governance expectations, data definitions, system priorities, adoption expectations, and performance needs.
  • Information Technology owns technical architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, integrations, identity-management standards, and enterprise technology requirements.
  • Business Intelligence owns reporting platforms, data architecture, technical data models, data pipelines, and production dashboard development.
  • Document Control owns controlled-document publication, numbering, revision control, retention, archiving, and published repositories.
  • Operations and business-unit HSE leaders own local implementation, execution, timely record completion, supervision, and accountability.

Leadership Responsibilities
  • This position has no direct reports. The analyst may coordinate temporary workstreams involving interns, system users, subject-matter experts, technical partners, vendors, and business-unit representatives.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Operations, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in HSE support, business systems, data administration, process improvement, reporting, project coordination, or a related area; meaningful internship, co-op, military, rotational, or project-based experience may be considered.
  • Experience organizing, validating, analyzing, or reporting information from multiple sources.
  • Experience supporting an HSE, quality, risk, compliance, contractor-management, learning, or other business system is preferred.

Knowledge & Skills
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to understand how people, processes, technology, data, responsibilities, and controls interact.
  • Working proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn unfamiliar systems, reporting tools, and operational terminology.
  • Ability to create clear process maps, functional requirements, trackers, job aids, presentations, and written communications.
  • Strong attention to data accuracy, definitions, documentation, version control, and follow-through.
  • Analytical ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, dependencies, and practical improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate with operational employees, HSE professionals, leaders, technical partners, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with HammerTech, Intelex, Cority, Enablon, VelocityEHS, Sphera, Benchmark Gensuite, or a comparable platform.
  • Experience with process mapping, user acceptance testing, system implementation, data governance, or change adoption.
  • Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, Microsoft Power Automate, Forms, Monday.com, Egnyte, or comparable tools.
  • Lean Six Sigma, project management, change-management, data analytics, Microsoft, or relevant HSE training or certification.
