Job description

Job Title: Information Technology Field Services Technician

Job Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated, customer-focused Information Technology Field Services Technician to join our growing IT team. The ideal candidate will provide on-site technical support and possess strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, networking, and infrastructure technologies. The successful candidate will work with Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, VMware, Linux, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Fortinet firewalls, Ubiquiti UniFi, Cisco and Meraki networking, retail point-of-sale systems, servers, storage, and endpoint hardware.

This position participates in the IT on-call rotation and requires daily travel to company locations, and mileage reimbursement is provided for business use of a personal vehicle. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide on-site technical support for hardware, software, and networking issues.

· Install, configure, and support Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 environments.

· Support Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint Online.

· Install, configure, and troubleshoot switches, routers, wireless access points, VPNs, and firewalls.

· Support retail technology including point-of-sale systems, payment terminals, receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, and customer-facing displays.

· Deploy, configure, and replace desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other endpoint hardware.

· Maintain accurate documentation, asset inventory, and ServiceDesk tickets.

· Support VMware virtualization platforms.

· Travel daily to company locations and participate in occasional overnight travel.

· Educate users on technology and security best practices.

· Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude.

· Maintain company equipment, vehicles, if assigned, tools, and inventory in a clean and organized manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
  • Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation tools.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.

Required Qualifications

· Minimum of two years of experience providing IT desktop, field, or technical support.

· Windows 11 administration and troubleshooting.

· Microsoft 365 administration.

· Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Intune.

· Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, wireless networking.

· Basic knowledge of the Linux operating system and command-line fundamentals.

· Excellent customer service, communication, and troubleshooting skills.

· Experience with ServiceDesk or similar ticketing software.

· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while working independently.

· Valid driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation.

· Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to urgent support issues outside normal business hours.

Must be at least 21 years old. 

Preferred Qualifications

· CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications.

· Microsoft Azure experience.

· PowerShell or scripting experience.

· VoIP and cybersecurity experience.

· Experience with Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, or similar networking equipment.

· Hyper-V and/or VMware.

· Experience supporting multi-site organizations.

Physical Requirements

· Lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.

· Install and move desktop computers, printers, switches, servers, and other equipment.

· Crawl under desks and work in confined spaces.

· Climb ladders when necessary.

· Rack and mount network equipment.

· Run, terminate, label, and organize network cabling.

· Stand, bend, kneel, and walk for extended periods.
