Job description

JED needs a temporary Salesforce Administrator support to help the organization continue to scale its work. This role is focused on task-level execution and delivery. This position works directly with the Technical Administrator to help manage and maintain JED's Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP) instance. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented administrator who excels at completing assigned tasks, managing day-to-day service requests, and ensuring data integrity. This role is not responsible for planning or prioritizing work, but rather for executing tasks assigned by the senior team.
*Please note: While this is a remote position, you MUST be based in the United States, be willing to work EST hours, and be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or a Green Card (we do not offer sponsorship). Additionally, direct experience with the Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP) is mandatory for this temporary contract. Applications without demonstrated NPSP experience will not be considered.
Salesforce Administration (Task-Based)
  • Serve as an administrator for JED's Salesforce NPSP instance, focusing on assigned tasks.
  • Manage user accounts, profiles, and page layouts as directed.
  • Implement customizations in Salesforce, including creating and maintaining custom fields, workflows, and validation rules based on provided requirements.
  • Assist with data integrity by performing regular data cleanup, de-duplication of records, and audits as assigned.
  • Execute routine and complex data migration, integration, and mass-update tasks using Salesforce Data Loader, Data Import Wizard, or similar tools (e.g., Jetstream).
  • Support Salesforce updates and help test new features or third-party applications in sandbox environments before deployments.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards to meet stakeholder requests.
User Support
  • Provide timely and effective technical support to all staff by managing and resolving issues through an internal ticketing system.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining clear documentation (user guides) for Salesforce processes.

Functional Ownership
  • Owns task-level Salesforce administration (user accounts, customizations, data integrity) for JED's NPSP instance.

Decision Rights & Collaboration
  • Executes tasks assigned by the senior team; does not plan or prioritize work independently.
Required
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Administrator.
  • Must have experience with the Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP).
  • Proficiency in Salesforce configuration (workflows, custom fields) and data analysis using reports and dashboards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail particularly when handling sensitive and/or large volumes of data.
  • Excellent communication skills for handling support tickets and user interactions in a collaborative and friendly manner.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving technology landscape.
  • A genuine passion for and alignment with JED's mission.
Preferred
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Certified Administrator).
  • Direct experience working in a non-profit organization.
  • Familiarity with related tools like Google Workspace, Slack, or Asana.
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Gearset.
Success Metrics
  • Assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Data integrity is maintained through regular cleanup and audits.
