Job description

IT Support Specialist – Level 1 (100% On‑Site)
Salary $60,000 - $65,000
Brooklyn
A private high school in South Brooklyn is seeking a Level 1 IT Support Specialist to support ~450 students and 100 faculty/staff. This is a full-time, year-round role requiring 5 days on-site, including summer coverage.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues; troubleshoot or escalate as needed
  • Provide support in person and via remote tools
  • Image, deploy, and configure laptops, desktops, and classroom technology
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, and applications
  • Manage device lifecycle (setup, repairs, replacements, inventory tracking)
  • Support printers, copiers, and print server queues
  • Manage users in Active Directory, Google Admin, and internal systems
  • Assist with endpoint management (Intune, Jamf, Google Admin)
  • Set up and support A/V equipment and livestream events (occasional after-hours work)
  • Document tickets, resolutions, and internal knowledge base updates
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/certifications
  • ~2 years of IT support / help desk experience
  • Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS
  • Basic command line and scripting knowledge (PowerShell or shell)
  • Basic networking/troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with physical work (lifting up to 40 lbs, moving between floors)
  • Strong interest in learning and staying current with technology
Nice to Have
  • 3D printer support/maintenance experience
  • Photography, videography, or A/V production experience
