Job description

School Nurse

Nursing services required for the care and health of all students in the building. Carry out the daily functions of a school nurse, including but not limited to: Be on call for emergencies, administer basic first aid, dispense medication, provide nursing care for students to include daily meds, prn meds, tube feedings, and nursing assessment if necessary, maintain appropriate documentation of all nursing interventions and medication administration in Health Accounting and Infinite Campus, record keeping of student files to include medical history, required school health entry records and medical updates from MD visits throughout the school year, be reliable, punctual, and prepared to help facilitate the school experience, communicate and collaborate with school team, parent/guardian, and MD related to medical needs and care of the student, including participation in IEP/504, and team meetings, support students and staff through health education, accompany classes with students with medical needs on field trips, may be reassigned to another building if daily nursing coverage so requires, additional duties as assigned by District Supervisor and Principal.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Standard requirements: favorable criminal background check and child abuse registry check for the candidate who is offered employment, tuberculin test and physical, mandatory direct deposit of paycheck.
