Job description

Medical Staff Coordinator (Temporary)

Location: Great Barrington, MA
Shift: Days
Assignment Type: Temporary

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Staff Coordinator to support medical staff operations within a hospital setting. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing all organizational, administrative, credentialing, and privileging functions related to the medical staff. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage medical staff organizational and administrative functions

  • Oversee credentialing and privileging processes in compliance with applicable regulations

  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JCAHO) standards, medical staff bylaws, and hospital policies

  • Maintain compliance with National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) regulations and procedures

  • Support medical staff meetings, including early morning or evening sessions as required

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all medical staff office matters

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Staff Coordinator in a hospital setting

  • Strong office management skills in a healthcare environment

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • High level of attention to detail and strong organizational abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Proficiency in secretarial and administrative tasks (typing, word processing, dictation/shorthand)

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred, but not required

Education & Certifications
  • Associateโ€™s Degree in Business or Executive Secretarial Program required

  • Current NAMSS (National Association of Medical Staff Services) certification strongly preferred

Additional Assignment Details
  • Candidate must have their own vehicle

  • Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered

  • Permanent address must be included at time of profile submission

  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted and approved at the time of application

    • No more than 5 days of RTO accepted

    • RTO requests submitted after profile upload or offer will not be approved

Orientation & Scheduling
  • Overtime and holiday multiplier: 1.25

  • Weekend requirements: None

  • Holiday coverage: If required
