Temporary Maintenance Assistant - Full-Time (90-Day Assignment)
Oakwood Gardens Care Center - Fresno, CA
Pay Range: $19-$21/hour BOE
Oakwood Gardens Care Center is seeking a dependable and hardworking Temporary Maintenance Assistant for a 90-day assignment. This position is ideal for someone experienced in facility maintenance who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Position Overview
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for helping maintain the facility grounds, equipment, and building systems in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairs
  • Maintain facility grounds, parking lots, and outdoor areas through cleaning, trimming, and upkeep
  • Replace light bulbs, clean windows/screens, and complete general maintenance tasks
  • Assist with servicing heating and cooling systems as directed
  • Coordinate maintenance work with nursing staff when working in resident care areas
  • Report equipment malfunctions and unsafe conditions promptly
  • Ensure maintenance supplies are stocked and equipment is properly stored after use
  • Follow all safety precautions and facility procedures when using tools and equipment
  • Assist with emergency situations and evacuation procedures if needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information and comply with HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10th grade education required
  • Previous maintenance or facility experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repairs
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Physical Demands
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs
