What You'll Do
As a Drafter supporting distribution projects, you'll assist engineers and lead designers in preparing high-quality drawings for overhead and underground distribution systems. You'll gain hands-on experience with industry standards, utility requirements, and CAD tools while contributing to impactful projects from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing distribution design drawings using standardized drafting techniques based on engineer sketches, markups, and verbal direction.
- Develop and modify drawings for electric distribution systems, including plan and profile views, equipment layouts, and related schematics.
- Apply company, client, and project standards to produce accurate and consistent drawing packages.
- Compile initial drawings, calculations, and design information into complete models for engineering review.
- Coordinate with engineers, designers, and project managers to understand design intent and project requirements.
- Incorporate engineering redlines and execute drawing revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with drafters and designers across multiple disciplines to support integrated designs.
- Continue developing CAD skills with coaching, training, and exposure to advanced tools.
What You Bring
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of CAD fundamentals and drafting techniques
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Preferred (Not Required) Qualifications
- Experience or coursework related to utility, electrical, or distribution design
- Exposure to MicroStation
- Familiarity with SolidWorks, Revit, and/or Civil 3D
- Associate of Science in Drafting or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
