Position Summary
****This is an onsite, in-person position located in the St. Louis, Missouri area. Candidates should apply only if they are able to be physically present and available to work onsite by the start date**** MULTIPLE LOCATIONS
The Computer Information Technology Department at St. Louis Community College is seeking adjunct instructors to teach courses for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Adjunct Faculty are part-time faculty members who provide high-quality instruction in assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines, departmental standards, and College policies. Adjunct faculty focus primarily on teaching and student learning and are responsible for maintaining instructional quality, academic integrity, and a supportive learning environment. Assignments are course-based and may vary by term, modality, and campus.
Primary Duties Performed
Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities normally include:
  • Teach IS/IT courses such as hardware and software, Cisco Networking Academy including VoIP and firewalls, Microsoft Server, VMware, software development, and cybersecurity classes. Assists in maintaining instructional equipment, helps develop curriculum, and participates in department and college committees.
  • The College reserves the right to assign other normal instructional responsibilities as may be appropriate for part-time faculty.

Qualifications/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree with major in subject field and five (5) years of full-time related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in the subject field or a master's degree with at least thirty (30) approved graduate semester hours in the subject field and related fields. Industry certification related to courses assigned
  • Previous teaching experience at the community college or postsecondary level
  • Experience teaching online or hybrid modalities
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and inclusive teaching practices

Working Conditions
    • Classroom, laboratory, or online instructional environment
    • May require travel between campuses or instructional sites
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Negligible to moderate physical activity, which may include standing for extended periods, light lifting of instructional materials, and use of standard classroom or computer equipment.
