Job description

Mail Clerk (Temporary) - $19 per hour

Dining and Auxiliary Operations

Call-in mail clerks are needed for student mail & package receiving, sorting, and preparation for distribution. Flexible work schedules are available based on departmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept mail and packages from USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and other carriers.
  • Bring mail and packages from drop-off areas to the JP Mailroom using provided carts.
  • Utilize the NeoTrak system to process packages for student notifications and distribution.
  • Sort mail and packages by student mailbox number.
  • Distribute mail into individual mailboxes in the JP Mailroom.
  • Help with distributing mass mailings and window service.
  • Report suspicious mail to authorities per protocol.
  • Fill in on Intra-Campus Mail route as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

You will work under the supervision of the Assistant Manager of Mailroom Operations, ensuring efficient processing and distribution of mail and packages.

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience in mailroom operations or related mail services preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Significant positive customer service experience.
  • Understanding of the importance of mail security.
  • Experience with computer database systems and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Ability to lift and move parcels/packages up to 50 pounds with assistance.
