MicroStrategy Architect
Location: US - Remote
Position type: temporary - TDB
Position Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled MicroStrategy Architect to lead the design, development, optimization, and governance of enterprise BI solutions using the MicroStrategy platform.
This role requires strong expertise in BI architecture, data modeling, dashboard development, performance optimization, and enterprise reporting environments. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and leadership to deliver scalable, high-performing analytics solutions aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design and architect enterprise-level BI solutions using MicroStrategy.
  • Develop and maintain MicroStrategy metadata, schemas, cubes, reports, dossiers, and dashboards.
  • Define BI architecture standards, best practices, and governance processes.
  • Optimize report performance, SQL generation, caching, and overall platform efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Data Architects on data warehouse and semantic layer design.
  • Support enterprise reporting environments, security configurations, and user access management.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for platform, reporting, and performance issues.
  • Participate in requirements-gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure the scalability, maintainability, and reliability of BI solutions.
  • Mentor developers and provide technical leadership to the BI team.
  • Design and support analytics solutions involving large and complex datasets.
  • Contribute to initiatives involving Mosaic, AI Agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience working with MicroStrategy.
  • Strong experience with MicroStrategy architecture, Intelligence Server, and platform administration.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Dossiers
    • Intelligent Cubes
    • Schema Objects
    • Report Services
    • Attributes, Facts, Metrics, and Transformations
  • Experience working with Mosaic.
  • Experience with AI Agents and Model Context Protocol (MCP).
  • Experience designing, processing, and optimizing solutions involving large datasets.
  • Strong experience debugging and troubleshooting performance and scalability issues.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of relational databases.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
  • Strong understanding of BI governance and enterprise analytics environments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the MicroStrategy SDK or other SDK-based integrations is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience integrating MicroStrategy with Snowflake, Databricks, or other modern cloud data platforms.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
  • Previous experience in enterprise or consulting environments.
  • MicroStrategy certifications are a plus.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with other BI tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Exposure to Python or other scripting languages for automation.
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices for BI deployments.
