Job description

OBJECTIVE:

Serve as both a creative storyteller and a technical 3D artist, capable of 3D modeling, animation, and rendering. Not only produces visually compelling, integrated motion graphics that meet project goals and client expectations, but also elevates existing 2D creative in support of the rest of the Creative Team. Additionally, able to execute start to finish animations and act as backup for Senior Interactive Motion Graphics Designer in their absence.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Minimum of 40 hours per week is required from Monday through Friday. This position may require additional hours before or after normal business hours, and may require additional time on usual days off.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

1.    Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave, and greeting.

2.    Under the supervision of the Senior Interactive and Motion Graphic Designer, develops creative concepts and executes motion graphics creative with the goal of producing targeted, highly exciting marketing messages; this also includes motion graphics templates.

3.    Develop ideas, sketches, and storyboards for animated sequences, including 3D environments, characters, or objects.

4.    Create and animate 3D assets such as characters, props, logos, or environments using tools like Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.

5.    Combine 3D elements with 2D graphics, typography, and effects in software like Adobe After Effects for cohesive motion graphics.

6.    Create 3D assets to be used in print/digital marketing materials.

7.    Create usable 3D models/elements in GLB/GLTF format for After Effects work flow

8.    Set up lighting, materials, and camera angles in 3D software, then render and composite into 2D timelines for final output. 

9.    Collaborates with the creative and marketing teams and clients to align creative vision and technical execution. 

10.    Adjust 3D motion graphics for different platforms — social media, web, casino floor animations and more. 

11.    Responsible for video editing and encoding videos for Barona marketing efforts.

12.    Supports the work of other design staff with project execution across a broad range of collateral and advertising material.

13.    Analyzes and develops animation design projects from a visual perspective and assesses hierarchical structure of animation content and other traditional design projects. Also assists print design staff with content analysis upon request.

14.    Maintains extremely high creative standards, while meeting deadline requirements.

15.    Continually identifies ways to push the creative envelope on all animation and print projects.

16.    Monitors file management and labeling protocol procedures.

17.    Helps maintain an organized creative work and archive system.

18.    Is flexible and assists the other creative artists to complete projects on time, as necessary.

19.    Primary backup to Senior Interactive Motion Graphic Designer.

20.    Other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

2-5 years of relevant experience

Advanced proficiency in Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, After Effects, 3ds Max

Demonstrated success creating original motion graphics for video and editing broadcast level video

Proven expertise in motion graphics and graphic design

Expert knowledge and experience in computer design technology and design software

Ability to work independently and with minimal senior management supervision; be results-oriented

Must have strong time management skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Written, oral, and presentation skills are essential

Ability to work flexible hours and deal with changes 

Ability to diplomatically work with co-workers, internal clients, and the Tribe

REQUIRED EDUCATION:    

College Degree or equivalent Animation/Graphic design certification

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:    

Mastery of at least one 3D package (e.g., Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, 3d Max) and integration with motion design tools (e.g., After Effects) 

Understanding of 3D animation fundamentals — rigging, keyframing, motion paths, and camera movement 

Ability to convey information or brand messages through movement and 3D visuals 

Juggling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and adapting to feedback 

Staying updated on trends in motion design, 3D tech, and interactive media

TECHNICAL FOCUS:    

3D modeling, texturing, lighting, rending, and animation
