Job description

Job Title: ITSM Analyst – Telecom Expense Management

Location: Morristown, New Jersey (100% Onsite from Day 1)
Duration: 6 Months
Experience Required: 6–8 Years
Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT or related discipline (Required)


Role Summary

The ITSM Analyst – Telecom is responsible for managing enterprise telecom inventory, billing validation, vendor coordination, and cost optimization across multiple telecommunications platforms. The role focuses on consolidating telecom billing systems, improving process efficiency, ensuring contract compliance, and delivering accurate reporting and cost transparency to leadership.

This position involves working closely with telecom carriers, IT teams, finance, and third-party vendors to ensure accurate telecom expense management (TEM), streamlined operations, and optimized communication costs.


Key ResponsibilitiesTelecom Billing & Inventory Management
  • Interact with telecom and IT vendors to obtain supporting documentation for accurate inventory records
  • Validate telecom savings, requirements, and billing accuracy across services (DIA, Broadband, MPLS, etc.)
  • Audit and verify telecom invoices, chargebacks, and contract compliance
  • Maintain and improve telecom inventory and billing accuracy across platforms
Telecom Expense Management (TEM)
  • Work on Calero or similar Telecom Management platforms
  • Consolidate telecom cost structures into a single enterprise billing platform
  • Support integration and migration of new TEM systems
  • Develop reporting metrics for management visibility
Cost Optimization & Forecasting
  • Forecast monthly and quarterly telecom run rates and variances
  • Identify opportunities to reduce telecom spend
  • Support RFP processes and vendor negotiations
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
  • Manage telecom carrier relationships and SLAs
  • Coordinate with IT, Finance, AP, and field teams
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with vendors
  • Oversee third-party vendor performance and issue resolution
Process Improvement & Governance
  • Develop and improve telecom ordering and disconnect processes
  • Ensure compliance with BSA, USA PATRIOT Act, and OFAC requirements
  • Support audit and compliance activities
  • Implement best practices for telecom lifecycle management
Project & Leadership Responsibilities
  • Lead telecom transformation initiatives
  • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Provide guidance on telecom deployment and lifecycle processes
  • Support team development and cross-functional collaboration

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong experience in Telecom Assurance and Telecom Billing
  • Hands-on experience with telecom inventory and TEM tools (Calero preferred)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial reconciliation skills
  • Experience managing telecom carriers and vendor SLAs
  • Knowledge of telecom services (MPLS, DIA, broadband, cellular, voice, international)
  • Experience in forecasting telecom costs and managing budgets
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Experience with RFPs, contract review, and vendor negotiations
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
