Location:ย South Park โ€“ Charlotte, NC (Onsite 4 days/week, local candidates preferred)
Duration:ย ย 3โ€“6 month Contract-to-Hire

Job Overview
The Technology Solutions Architect I is a senior technical leader embedded within Agile delivery teams, responsible for designing scalable, secure, and aligned technology solutions. This role translates business requirements into implementable architectures, applying sound software design principles and enterprise standards to complex initiatives.
The Solutions Architect provides architectural guidance throughout the full software development lifecycle, partnering closely with developers, product owners, and Enterprise Architecture to ensure solution integrity, technical quality, and predictable delivery outcomes. This role influences design and implementation decisions, mentors delivery teams, and proactively identifies risks, tradeoffs, and integration impacts across multiple concurrent initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Develop high-level solution architectures, define technology selections, and provide architectural oversight throughout implementation to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and high-quality execution.
  2. Partner with product and delivery teams to assess technical feasibility, integration impacts, scalability, and architectural risks for new initiatives and enhancements.
  3. Promote and reinforce enterprise development standards, patterns, and architectural guardrails, and recommend improvements to Enterprise Architecture where appropriate.
  4. Translate complex technical designs, tradeoffs, risks, and trends into clear, concise communication tailored to delivery teams, architects, and executive leadership.
  5. Mentor and coach delivery teams on technologies, systems, and business process integration, including guidance on effective and responsible use of AI-enabled development practices.
  6. Provide architectural guidance on build-versus-buy decisions, including evaluation of custom solutions, SaaS platforms, and packaged technologies.
  7. Research and evaluate emerging technologies, commercial platforms, and industry trends to identify opportunities for modernization and continuous improvement.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Leverages established Enterprise Architecture principles, standards, and reference patterns to guide solution design and ensure consistency across delivery teams.
  • Strong foundation in software engineering principles, system design, integration patterns, and distributed architecture concepts.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and delivering full-stack web solutions (e.g., .NET, C#, SQL, Git) within Azure or comparable cloud environments.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery models and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to evaluate architectural tradeoffs and clearly communicate risks, impacts, and technical decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Prior experience serving as a solution architect, technical lead, or senior developer guiding design decisions within cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled development practices and emerging AI technologies is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, solution design, or technical leadership roles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as a Solutions Architect or Technical Lead within Agile delivery teams.
  • Experience designing and delivering cloud-based solutions (Azure preferred).
