Opportunity


Overview

Naval Special Warfare Command (NSWC) N32 conducts continuous analysis to identify training documentation that requires development and revision. This documentation may be incorporated into training and reference manuals, instructions, lesson training guides and NSW Navy Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures publications (NTTP) to provide guidance and consistency throughout the force. The Technical Writer will provide technical writing support to develop, edit, and maintain training, readiness, and education documentation as well as provide additional administrative support for N3 management and operation functions as needed.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical writing support to include editing, formatting, and graphic design.
  • Collaborate with commands at all echelons to ensure documents communicate processes and information clearly, concisely and accurately.
  • Provide administrative tasks to support management operation functions as needed.
  • Enter data into multiple databases accurately.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an Accredited U.S. College.
  • 10 years' experience developing, researching, compiling, organizing, and documenting SOF or Navy training doctrine, policy, and supporting documentation.
  • Prior experience performing administrative duties for the US Government agencies is required. Demonstrate experience in supporting records management processes, policy document and brief preparation, tracking and organizing information, and procedures related to any of the following categories, including processing correspondence for approval, preparing briefs for leadership decisions, managing office supplies, and monitoring measures of organizational effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate experience with a multitude of software and document management applications. A minimum of expert level skill with MS Office Suite applications and skill in the following: SharePoint, Microsoft Customer Relationship Manager (CRM) (Task Management Tool).
  • Possess an intermediate level of skill with Adobe Acrobat products.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Be able to utilize artificial intelligence (Al) software applications. Be proficient in synthesizing and incorporating Al output to assist with development and revision of documentation.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from an Accredited U.S. College
  • Experience developing, researching, compiling, organizing, and documenting Naval Special Warfare training doctrine, policy, and supporting documentation.
