As a Film Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible of a variety of duties:
Work will primarily focus on Motion Picture film products, but activities may span into other film product lines as required to benefit AMC Industrial Films & Chemicals Division improvement
Involvement in Film Control Strip Manufacturing product exposing & release
Product investigation & reporting
Photochemical mixing and film processing
Performing physical property testing
Technical support for the Industrial Films & Chemical Division as needed
Interacting with field Sales & Engineering Representatives and Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians, Production Supervisors and Shop Floor Operations
This position will also provide technical problem solving & resolution to customers by employing product knowledge, troubleshooting & examination skills.
Specific Job Functions:
Design, perform, examine, analyze, and report various product and process testing as required for product / process improvement programs
At times, will be required to mix photographic processing chemicals, test them, and use them for processing film samples
Investigate and answer formal customer trade reactions and set up film samples for specific testing or analysis
Will have Quality Technical responsibilities for one or more control film / control strip products which involves exposure set-up, data analysis and releasing of batches.
Have involvement in Quality Guard meetings with manufacturing operations.
Communicate with world-wide Sale & Engineering representatives.
Desired Skills & Experience:
A.S. in a technical field or a minimum of 3 years or work experience in a relevant position
Knowledge of film manufacturing, film use, testing & examination, and how film works
Knowledge of the Motion Picture film system and film / equipment used in motion imaging production & workflows, including film to digital interface
Knowledge of photographic processes
Knowledge of quality systems, previous quality technical experience
Strong oral and written skills
Must be able to work comfortably in darkrooms for limited periods alone and without cell phone or outside contact.
Must be able to develop logical test plans for improvement activities, interpret test data and develop & publish understandable reports
Knowledge of Outlook, Excel, Teams and other Office Software
Proven ability to work
Team player with excellent customer focus
Must be able to multi-task
QIF / Greenbelt experience a plus
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to interact within cross-functional teams during process improvements, product investigations, product development and Gate meetings.
Work hours for this position are: 8 hours M-F with start time between 6:30 am and 8:00 am
Experience Level: 3 years or greater
Minimum Education Level: Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
