Job description

Role Summary

The Technical Services Assistant is responsible for assisting the Technical Services Manager in daily operations of the profiling department. Using their training, this role will help classify and profile chemicals based on hazardous characteristics/hazard class and obtain approvals for job order creation and scheduling.

Job Duties

• Classify chemicals based on their hazard classifications (corrosivity, acids/bases, flammability, reactivity, and toxicity hazards).
• Review chemical inventories and segregated by individual hazard class.
• Research chemical characteristics to ensure proper classification.
• Obtain supporting documentation to prepare and submit profiles to facilities for pricing and approval.
• Research MSDS information for inventories.
• Perform segregation of chemical inventories on paper or in field if required.
• Maintain and update job order and profile forms when necessary.
• Input profile information into online databases.
• Correspond with customers regarding projects or chemical inventories providing overall customer service.
• Assist with field service lab packaging.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED.
• General understanding and knowledge of Chemical hazards.
• College Chemistry courses (preferred but can be trained on job).
• Efficient multitasking and time management skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Physically able to lift up to 50lbs.
