Job Summary:

The Technical Sales Engineer (TSE) plays a pivotal role in sustaining and growing our base business, which includes Direct Accounts, Distribution and Integration Channel Partners, and Engine OEMs. As the primary technical and business representative for a defined customer base, the TSE is responsible for understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities, and aligning them with the company''s comprehensive suite of products and solutions.
This role blends deep technical knowledge with strong customer-facing skills to support both new business development and ongoing relationship management. TSEs work across internal departmentsโ€”such as Product Management, Marketing, and Applications Engineeringโ€”to deliver customized solutions and ensure long-term customer success.
Key Job Responsibilities
Technical Sales & Customer Engagement:

  • Foster long-term relationships with direct accounts, OEMs, and channel partners to grow and retain base business.
  • Act as the primary technical expert for assigned customers, guiding them to optimal product and solution selections.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and deliver compelling technical presentations to support both pre- and post-sales engagement.
  • Educate channel partners and customers to ensure maximum value and performance from company products.
  • Address and resolve technical or product-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Facilitate regular updates, meetings, and check-ins to maintain customer satisfaction and stay aligned with project needs.
  • Support trade shows, customer visits, and industry events as a technical ambassador for the company.
Sales Strategy & Management Tools:
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and opportunity tracking through effective use of CRM and other customer management tools.
  • Ensure customer account information, contact history, and opportunity status are kept current and actionable.
  • Leverage CRM data and market insight to drive business decisions and identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities.
  • Support strategic planning and execution of business development initiatives to capture new revenue streams.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, serving as the Voice of the Customer (VOC) to influence general market product roadmaps.
  • Provide input for pricing strategies, manage contract renewals, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, including domestic and occasional international trips.

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor''s degree in a technical field or equivalent education from a technical institute.
Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in account management or project management, with a proven track record of success in complex, long-term customer relationships preferred.
  • Experience in sales, account management, or business development, particularly in technical environments, is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing customer expectations, resolving concerns, and minimizing risks to relationships.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, pricing, and renewals to align with company objectives.
Communication & Collaboration:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage both internal teams and customers effectively.
  • Skilled in presenting product value propositions to large groups and participating in trade shows and industry events.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while maintaining timely responses to customer inquiries.
  • A customer-first mindset, always focused on providing exceptional service and solutions to meet customer needs.
Sales & Negotiation Skills:
  • Ability to successfully negotiate contracts, close sales, and manage pricing discussions, ensuring win-win outcomes that align with business objectives.
