Position Overview

Reporting to theDirector, Plant Manager,The Operations Manager is responsible for leading manufacturing operations within a fast-paced production environment, ensuring achievement of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity (SQDCP) objectives. This leader develops supervisors, drives continuous improvement initiatives, improves operational performance, and partners across the business to support customer commitments and profitable growth. The ideal candidate will be a visible shop-floor leader with strong Lean Manufacturing and people leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Execution

  • Lead daily operations todeliveronkey performance metrics including safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity
  • Translate businessobjectivesinto actionable operational plans and ensure disciplined execution
  • Monitor production or service outputs,identifygaps, and implement corrective actions

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
  • Identifyprocess inefficiencies and lead initiatives to improve throughput, reduce waste, andoptimizecost structure
  • Establish standard work and ensure adherence to best practices

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop frontline supervisors and operational teams
  • Build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and development
  • Support workforce planning, succession planning, and talent capability building

Safety & Compliance

  • Champion a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and prevention strategies
  • Ensure adherence to quality systems, policies, and regulatory requirements


Performance Management & Analytics

  • Establish and track KPIs; leverage data to drive decision-making and performance improvements
  • Prepare and present operational performance updates to senior leadership
  • Use metrics toidentifytrends, risks, and opportunities

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, Finance, and Commercial teams tooptimizeend-to-end operations
  • Support new product introductions, process changes, and capital projects
  • Align operational priorities with customer requirements and business needs

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage operational budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives whilemaintainingquality and service levels
  • Optimizelabor, materials, and equipmentutilization

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 7-10+ years of progressive operations experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and supervisors

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or operational excellence frameworks
  • Experience with ERP systems and operational data analysis
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

Leadership Competencies

  • Proven ability to lead through others and drive operational accountability
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Results-oriented with strong execution discipline

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MBA or related field)
  • Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • Experience in multi-site or complex operational environments
