Job description

Hoyos Consulting LLC is searching for a Director of Network Operations to join our team, as we grow our network and consulting practice across Wisconsin and the Midwest. This position would oversee and lead our engineering and field operations teams. The right person here would be able to jump in and hit the ground running as a key member of our team, and helping grow and streamline our practices. This position would report directly to the CEO.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership/management/mentorship to engineering and field operations staff
  • Plan/implement network growth projects (ISP - fixed wireless + fiber expansion)
  • Plan/implement customer driven projects (network consulting, wireless deployments, optical networks)
  • General support/ technical escalation point for network events/issues
  • Maintain and monitor Hoyos Consulting's network, and improve where possible

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5+ years experience with networking technologies/protocols
  • 3+ years of leadership and/or supervisory experience in telecommunications related field
  • Experience working in a service provider and/or consulting environment, and 24x7 operational support
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, able to learn on the fly and work independently
  • Strong attention to details and documentation
  • Comfortable in front of a customer

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with BGP/OSPF/MPLS/MetroEthernet implementation
  • Experience with optical network architecture and troubleshooting (DWDM/CWDM)
  • Juniper (JunOS, MX/ACX specific), Cisco (IOS), Ubiquiti and Fortinet experience
  • Experience with fixed wireless and large-scale user facing wireless
