JOB SUMMARY

The Haltech Sales/Tech role will focus on sales and providing technical support for Haltech’s full range of products which includes engine control units, digital displays, power distribution modules and data acquisition systems along with various related components.


Successful applicants will act as the point of contact for all customer inquiries and transactions received via phone, email, support tickets and web-store orders.


This role will require the applicant to maintain an appropriate level of customer contact with assigned wholesale accounts via outbound check-ins, updates, and follow-ups to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction.


Some travel (both domestic and international) as well as occasional weekend work will be required to attend racing events and trade shows.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical and sales support to dealers and customers.
  • Establish new accounts according to the Sales Manager’s guidelines.
  • Follow up on sales leads and make cold calls to potential customers.
  • Receive customer calls and provide product specifications, technical information, and pricing to achieve sales and revenue goals.
  • Establish and maintain industry contacts that lead to sales opportunities and revenue generation.
  • Research and develop potential customers.
  • Enter customer orders in ERP software using designated order entry practices.
  • Provide problem resolution and troubleshooting expertise to customers. Taking responsibility for and making every effort to meet customers’ needs and resolve their product problems.
  • Generate customer correspondence.
  • Research and complete descriptive customer RMAs.
  • Return messages, e-mails, and voice mails in a timely manner.
  • Attend race events and trade shows as determined by management.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that affect our target market.
  • Promote new, innovative products to existing customers.
  • Work closely and effectively with Engineering/R&D, Operations, and other Sales staff to identify future customer needs.
  • Determine and communicate customer satisfaction to Sales Manager.
  • Communicate openly, honestly, and constructively using TQ (Total Quality) practices.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Requirements:
  • Passion for performance cars and electronic technology products.
  • Working knowledge of aftermarket engine management systems and EFI systems.
  • Sound knowledge of internal combustion engines, performance modifications and forced induction systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • High level of computer literacy.
  • Strong self-management skills with the ability to work unsupervised and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent drive and initiative, proactive desire to learn and grow within the company.

Education and Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and work experience preferred.
  • 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training.
  • Solid sales skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, database applications, and contact management software.
  • NetSuite or comparable ERP systems.
  • Aftermarket engine management installation.
  • Aftermarket engine management tuning.
  • Electronic systems troubleshooting.
