Basic Purpose and Objective of the Position:
The IT Director is a strategic technology leader responsible for developing, managing, and advancing the company's enterprise-wide IT environment. This role ensures that technology solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives to enhance operational performance, support growth, and maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
The IT Director leads the company's strategic IT roadmap, represents technology priorities in organizational planning, manages enterprise IT investments and budgets, and oversees the effective design, implementation, and operation of enterprise infrastructure, systems, and services across the organization.
This role collaborates closely with business and technology leaders, including Information & Cyber Security, ERP, and Business Information teams, to drive operational excellence, digital transformation, cybersecurity readiness, and continuous improvement across the enterprise.
Major Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the enterprise IT roadmap to improve user experience, operational efficiency, system reliability, and business scalability.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align technology initiatives with corporate strategy and operational priorities.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives that modernize business systems, automate workflows, and improve productivity across the organization.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance operational performance, collaboration, reporting, and security.
  • Serve as a core member of the company AI Committee and support responsible AI adoption, governance, and operational integration.
  • Establish IT governance standards, policies, and lifecycle management practices that support long-term business objectives.

Technology Infrastructure & Enterprise Systems
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of secure and reliable infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud platforms, endpoints, and collaboration technologies.

  • Manage enterprise business systems including ERP, CRM, HRIS, Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and engineering applications.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and software vendors to ensure systems are properly configured, optimized, maintained, and aligned with operational requirements.
  • Support enterprise application integrations, system upgrades, and technology standardization initiatives.
  • Ensure infrastructure and enterprise systems support future growth, operational scalability, and evolving business needs.
  • Drive continuous improvement of IT service delivery, system availability, and user experience.

Cybersecurity, Risk & Business Continuity
  • Partner with Information Security leadership to support secure infrastructure architecture, endpoint protection, access governance, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.
  • Develop, maintain, and periodically test disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, cybersecurity, and business continuity risks across enterprise technology environments.
  • Support audit readiness, regulatory compliance efforts, and technology policy enforcement where applicable.

IT Operations & Service Delivery
  • Direct daily IT operations, establish priorities, define service standards, and ensure departmental KPIs and service expectations are achieved.
  • Lead incident escalation management and ensure timely resolution of critical infrastructure and user-impacting issues.
  • Develop and maintain IT operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting to support performance management and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring service interruptions or KPI deficiencies and implements corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to assess business requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.

Budgeting, Asset & Vendor Management
  • Develop and manage the enterprise IT budget, including capital planning, operational expenditures, software licensing, and technology lifecycle management.
  • Manage IT vendor relationships, contract negotiations, software subscriptions, and technology procurement activities.
  • Evaluate software and hardware solutions to identify opportunities for technological advancement and operational improvement.
  • Ensure approved IT projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff while fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team culture.
  • Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to strengthen technical capabilities and service delivery.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, operational accountability, and continuous improvement practices within the IT organization.
  • Promote strong cross-functional collaboration and customer-focused support throughout the IT team.

Capacity Planning, Reporting & Analytics
  • Assess current and future technology capacity requirements, including infrastructure, systems, licensing, and equipment needs.
  • Analyze operational performance, system reliability, maintenance trends, and technology utilization to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
  • Support enterprise reporting, data governance, and business intelligence initiatives through effective technology management and collaboration.

Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, including leadership responsibilities in infrastructure, enterprise systems, technical operations, and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing IT strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Experience managing enterprise technologies including networks, servers, cloud platforms, Microsoft 365 environments, ERP systems, cybersecurity initiatives, and business applications.
  • Proven experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, technology procurement, and enterprise software licensing.
  • Strong leadership experience developing teams, driving operational improvements, and managing cross-functional technology initiatives.
  • Experience supporting business continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity governance, and regulatory compliance initiatives preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations relevant to the organization's operations.

Targeted Salary Range: $195,000-$205,000 + bonus
