Overview

The IT Director is responsible for leading the organization's information technology strategy, infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and support operations. This role ensures that technology solutions align with business goals, support operational efficiency, and maintain system reliability, security, and scalability. The IT Director oversees IT staff, vendors, budgets, projects, and policies while driving continuous improvement across all technology functions.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the company's IT strategy in alignment with business objectives Oversee daily IT operations, including infrastructure, networks, systems, hardware, software, and help desk support Lead, mentor, and manage IT team members, including performance management and professional development Plan, implement, and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect company systems, data, and networks Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of all critical business systems Manage IT budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and technology investments Oversee vendor relationships, service contracts, software licensing, and third-party support providers Lead technology projects such as system upgrades, migrations, implementations, and process improvements Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, standards, and disaster recovery/business continuity plans Collaborate with department leaders to identify technology needs and deliver effective solutions Monitor compliance with applicable regulations, data privacy requirements, and security best practices Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance efficiency and scalability Prepare reports, metrics, and updates for senior leadership on IT performance, risks, and initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required; Master's degree preferred 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership or management responsibility Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, cloud systems, enterprise applications, and technical support operations Proven experience managing IT projects, budgets, vendors, and cross-functional technology initiatives Strong understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity, risk management, and data protection principles Experience developing IT policies, procedures, and governance standards Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to translate technical concepts into practical business solutions Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, or cloud certifications are a plus
