Job description

Director 12 month

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must hold certification from an accredited institution in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field, preferred. Valid Louisiana Level 3, Educational Leader in Special Education Ancillary Certificate, or equivalent Professional Teaching Certificate with Special Education certification required. Louisiana Educational Leadership certification or eligibility to obtain preferred. Minimum of five years of successful professional experience in education, including experience in special education and/or programs supporting diverse learners. Demonstrated knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Louisiana special education regulations, dyslexia and related disorders requirements, English Language Learner (ELL) requirements, migrant and immigrant student supports, tiered intervention systems, and other applicable federal and state laws. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
