Job description

We are seeking detail-oriented and motivated Contract Tax Analysts to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing Excise Tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance across various tax types, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Process Excise Tax returns and perform cross-checks across multiple tax types.
  • Stay informed on annual legislative changes and understand their impact on tax types and returns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all tax returns.
  • Provide technical and procedural assistance to taxpayers, their representatives, and internal divisions.
  • Collaborate with other divisions within the agency and with state agencies.
  • Answer customer phone calls and assist with inquiries.
  • Process registrations and licensing forms, verifying all required documents for compliance.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and compliance throughout all interactions.

Qualifications:ย 

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislative changes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience in tax processing or related administrative work preferred.
  • High School diploma or GED
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing
