Job Description:

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting state tax processing and revenue management systems is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a technical authority or principal architect for state revenue systems, providing strategic direction and oversight across multiple functional areas.
  • Required Skills:
  • Strong product and functional knowledge of Integrated Tax and Revenue Management Systems and/or similar state integrated tax systems.
  • Ability to serve as solution architect for enterprise tax management systems.
  • Experience supporting legacy tax platforms and modernization efforts.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle 19c or higher, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar).
  • Ability to design and maintain clear, maintainable code for mission-critical systems.
  • Experience using software project tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplined team.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Will provide analysis, support, maintenance, development and project management for legacy systems changes (IRMS) for the Department of Taxation’s state revenue and tax processing systems.
  • The individual will support legacy Integrated Revenue Management Systems (IRMS) and assist with the development and implementation of modernization initiatives, including the design and support of interfaces between legacy and modern tax systems. Work will be performed under the direction of Department of Taxation management to ensure the continuity, accuracy, stability, and performance of mission-critical tax applications throughout all phases of system modernization.
