Job description

Description:

The Tax Analyst supports the Company’s tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities under the guidance of senior tax leadership and in coordination with outside advisors. This role assists with income tax provisioning and compliance, Form 1099 reporting, state and local tax matters, and sales and use tax obligations, while gaining exposure to public company tax processes and controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and capable of collaborating across Finance and Accounting teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with coordination and information gathering for federal, state, and local tax compliance filings prepared by outside tax advisors.
  • Support the quarterly and annual income tax provision process, including data preparation, variance analysis, and documentation, under supervision.
  • Assist with ASC 740 calculations and related schedules, including deferred taxes and effective tax rate components.
  • Prepare and organize responses to tax-related requests from internal and external auditors.
  • Maintain and update tax-related schedules and support files, including fixed asset tax books and state apportionment data.
  • Assist with sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and other indirect tax matters, including data collection and notice support.
  • Support the maintenance of real estate and personal property tax records and assist with annual renditions and assessments.
  • Help monitor compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls related to tax processes and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Accounting, FP&A, and other business units to collect and validate tax-related data.
  • Learn and utilize the Company’s tax and accounting systems to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in tax, accounting, or audit (public accounting or corporate environment preferred).
  • Basic understanding of U.S. federal income tax fundamentals; exposure to state and local tax concepts preferred.
  • Exposure to ASC 740 or public company tax reporting is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with large ERP systems (Oracle Fusion Cloud preferred) and strong Excel skills.
  • CPA eligibility or active pursuit of CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and documentation.
  • Willingness to learn new systems, regulations, and tax processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
