This position on-premise; only local candidates will be considered. 

Job Summary:

The Tax Assistant will report directly to the Tax Director, be responsible for reviewing tax returns for accuracy, contacting clients to obtain information and assist in any and all tasks assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Supports the Tax Director in:

  • Perform tax assistant duties to the tax department.

  • Reviewing tax returns for accuracy

  • Communicating with clients to gather information to prepare taxes.

  • Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers and / or mailing attentions.

  • Schedule and organize tax works and assignments for Tax Director

  • Creates reports regarding the current status of tax returns as requested.

  • Organize and manage all tax reports, statements and documents relating to clients.

  • Collaborates directly with Tax Director on any work necessary to complete tax returns.

  • Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel 

· Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with clients.

· Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
