Position Summary
The Tavern Bar Manager is responsible for directing the daily operations of the Tavern and supporting other beverage outlets, cocktail receptions, hospitality events, and beverage-related functions as needed. This leader is responsible for delivering exceptional member and guest experiences, maintaining the highest standards of service and cleanliness, developing and leading a high-performing team, and maximizing beverage sales, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Tavern and support additional beverage outlets as needed.
  • Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and develop bartenders, servers, and support staff.
  • Conduct daily lineups and ongoing training focused on service excellence, product knowledge, and operational standards.
  • Ensure exceptional member and guest satisfaction through visible leadership and proactive engagement.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance, cleanliness, sanitation, and safety throughout all beverage operations.
  • Manage beverage inventory, ordering, receiving, storage, and product controls.
  • Conduct monthly inventories and utilize reporting to manage beverage costs and profitability.
  • Monitor labor expenses and staffing levels to achieve budget goals while maintaining service standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Support beverage programming, promotions, seasonal offerings, and special events.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, health regulations, and responsible alcohol service standards.
  • Assist with beverage operations throughout the resort as business demands require.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Head Bartender, Bar Manager, or Beverage Supervisor in a full-service restaurant, luxury resort, hotel, country club, or private club environment.
  • Fine dining and banquet experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Working knowledge of beverage inventory management, purchasing, cost controls, labor management, and financial reporting.
  • Experience utilizing Point of Sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
