POSITION SUMMARY:
The Self-Checkout Coordinator delivers quality customer service while maintaining the area in a clean and safe condition, as well as stocked with the products customers need. One of the last interactions our customers have before leaving the store is with the Self-Checkout Coordinator; therefore, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining company core values is expected. The individual will ensure the customer is satisfied and encouraged to come back to Cardenas Markets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Operate front end equipment; register, calculator, scanner;
* Oversee self-checkout units; demonstrates personal Customer Service excellence. Engage with customers always;
* Serve multiple customers at once and anticipate issues before they occur;
* Monitor scanning activity to ensure scanning accuracy;
* Invite customers to use self-checkout lanes, especially if lines are forming in other lanes;
* Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers. Demonstrate care and compassion for people; show empathy and concern. Able to build and maintain positive team relationships, relate well to diverse people; is approachable;
* Clearly communicate and enforce standards for quality, cleanliness, organization, customer service, safety, loss prevention, sanitation, store conditions and food safety; Engage in safe work practices and encouraging others to do the same;
* Responsible for presentation of work area, cleaning & organization -- uniform & personal appearance of self;
* All other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* Customer Service and retail experience desirable;
* Bilingual: Spanish and English preferred.
