This job is similar to a talent recruiter, but a talent advisor typically plays a more strategic part and can take on a more advisory role to candidates. This career requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Other important qualifications include experience in talent recruitment, knowledge of the industry, and communication skills. Many talent advisors work for recruiting firms where they work with several clients at once.

How does a talent advisor typically collaborate with hiring managers to ensure successful recruitment outcomes?

Talent Advisors work closely with hiring managers throughout the recruitment process, from defining role requirements to selecting the best-fit candidates. They act as strategic partners, providing market insights, helping to craft compelling job descriptions, and advising on interview techniques. Regular check-ins and feedback sessions are common, ensuring alignment on candidate profiles and hiring timelines. This collaboration helps streamline decision-making and improves the overall quality of hires.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a talent advisor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Talent Advisor, you need a solid understanding of recruitment strategies, talent assessment, and workforce planning, usually backed by a degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and recruiting tools like LinkedIn Recruiter is commonly required. These skills are crucial to effectively match talent with organizational needs and support business growth through strategic hiring.

The Opportunity
As a Talent Acquisition Partner, you will lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for a variety of hourly, skilled trades, technical, professional, and leadership positions across the organization.
You will partner closely with hiring leaders, production leaders, and the People & Culture team to develop hiring strategies, create candidate pipelines, improve hiring processes, and ensure new employees have a strong start.
You will share responsibility for recruiting with another talent acquisition partner already on the team and play a key role in helping the company meet aggressive hiring goals.

  • Develop sourcing strategies that generate qualified candidate pipelines

  • Build and maintain talent pools for recurring and hard-to-fill positions

  • Conduct phone screens, interviews, and candidate assessments

  • Partner with hiring leaders to understand business needs and define hiring profiles

  • Ensure a positive and responsive candidate experience throughout the hiring process

  • Extend offers and support negotiations when appropriate

  • Track recruiting activity, hiring metrics, and pipeline health

Sourcing & Talent Attraction
  • Proactively source candidates using job boards, referrals, networking, community partnerships, social media, trade schools, and other creative sourcing methods

  • Build awareness of Process Technology as an employer of choice within the local market

  • Develop relationships within manufacturing, skilled trades, and technical talent communities

  • Create compelling messaging that attracts qualified candidates while setting realistic expectations regarding the role and work environment

Onboarding & New Hire Integration
  • Lead onboarding activities for new team members

  • Partner with leaders to ensure new hires are prepared for success from day one

  • Identify opportunities to improve onboarding effectiveness and employee experience

  • Support initiatives designed to improve new hire engagement and retention

Partnership & Process Improvement
  • Act as a trusted advisor to hiring leaders throughout the recruiting process

  • Help identify barriers that slow hiring or impact candidate quality

  • Recommend process improvements that increase recruiting effectiveness and efficiency

  • Support workforce planning and hiring forecasts as the organization grows

What Success Looks Like
In this role, you will:
  • Consistently deliver qualified candidates for critical openings

  • Build strong relationships with hiring leaders and plant leadership

  • Reduce the time required to fill open positions

  • Experience partnering directly with leaders and hiring leaders

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple requisitions and competing priorities simultaneously

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and HR technology

Preferred
  • Manufacturing, industrial, skilled trades, logistics, or distribution recruiting experience

  • Experience with onboarding and new hire orientation

  • Experience using UKG or similar HRIS platforms
