Job Description:

Our work depends on an Enterprise Monitoring (EM) Engineer to support Government operations in Annapolis Junction, MD.

At GDIT, we foster a people-focused and customer-centric environment in delivering Infrastructure Engineering Services. In this role, you will help ensure real-time visibility into system performance through enterprise monitoring, alerting, data collection, and bring innovative ideas.

A typical day in this role may include:

  • Providing real-time system monitoring, alerting, and system data collection for all infrastructure services; works with client/server and back-end systems owners to define appropriate monitoring system usage, data collection, and alert thresholds
  • Providing technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Engineering area of responsibility
  • Guiding the successful completion of design and development activities for enterprise Infrastructure/Network Monitoring (Linux, Windows), Application, SNMP, and Log Monitoring and may function in a project leadership role
  • Ensuring monitoring solution reports required data up-stream to the enterprise monitor-of-monitors platform and to the systems data analytics platform
  • Interacting with the government on Systems Engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts; communicate with other program personnel, government leadership
  • Participating in the team's service delivery includes weekly reporting, requirements development, and direct customer collaboration in providing a roadmap toward emerging technologies
  • Reviewing and analyzing business and system requirements and specifications for systems monitoring tool protocols and future tool usage
  • Assists with other Enterprise Monitoring efforts across the program and client portfolio

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph
  • Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline and 10+ years' experience, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
  • Familiarity with existing EM technologies (e.g., SolarWinds or Splunk) and ability to learn more complex platforms (e.g., Cisco AppDynamics)
  • Experience with API integrations and processes
  • Ability to support the Authority to Operate (ATO) process, including system certification and accreditation
  • Strong foundational understanding of Windows Server Administration (e.g., managing, configuring, and troubleshooting)
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools and technologies

The likely salary range for this position is $147,292 - $199,278. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
