The Collection System Monitoring Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a large network of rainfall, groundwater, and collection system flow monitoring stations distributed throughout the city. The City of Springfield's sanitary sewer collection system has its documented beginnings in 1894, when the first sewers were constructed west of Grant Ave.

Qualifications and Requirements Experience, Education, and Training Requires a minimum of 3 years education, training or work experience in sewer inspection, plumbing systems, street/sewer construction, electronics, electrical or related field; PREFERRED A minimum of two years using software applications, familiarity with data acquisition software.

Licensing/Certification Must possess a valid driver's license; Missouri Water Environment Association (MWEA) Class C Collection Systems Operator Certification is required within first year of employment; OSHA 10 certification and certification in confined space entry is required within first year of employment.
