Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise infrastructure systems across cloud and on-premise environments. This role requires deep technical expertise in virtualization, networking, and operating systems, with a strong focus on automation, scalability, and security. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with a collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement. The candidate should bring a blend of technical acumen, regulatory knowledge, and client-facing professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Drive Infrastructure Excellence

  • Design, implement, and maintain virtualized infrastructure solutions using hypervisors such as VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies.

  • Play a key role in the execution of complex infrastructure projects and core services such as server migrations /deployments, client onboarding, security initiatives like disaster recovery testing, Active Directory, and enterprise file systems. In performing designs ensure seamless integration, scalability, and operational resilience across hybrid infrastructures.

  • Support after hours and weekend scheduled implementations and emergency incident responses.

  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging systems to ensure high availability and performance.

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or PowerShell.

  • Ensure compliance with security policies and assist in vulnerability remediation and patch management.

Enable Seamless Operations

  • Mastery support forWindows,Linux, andmacOSsystems across the enterprise.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments, upgrades, and integrations.

  • Document system configurations, diagrams, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Champion Innovation & Collaboration

  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement across infrastructure and operations including but not limited to AI management.

  • Advise and collaborate with stakeholders to strategically align infrastructure capabilities with evolving business objectives.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance performance, security, and scalability.

  • Mentor team members and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Requirements/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure support.

  • Hands-on experience withAWSand/orAzurecloud services.

  • Hands-on experience with hybrid (on-premise and cloud) Windows Server Management, Virtualization and Containers, and Active Directory Domain Services.

  • Proficiency inVMware vSphereadministration and virtual networking.

  • Expertise in managing and troubleshootingWindows Server,Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL), andmacOSenvironments.

  • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, Python).

  • Familiarity with identity and access management (Active Directory, Azure AD, SSO).

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Approximately 35% travel outside the Indianapolis metro area; dependable transportation is required.
