Role Overview:

As a Contract Bind Underwriter, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and profitability of our Contract Binding Division. You will be responsible for marketing our Property, Casualty and Inland Marine products to an exclusive wholesale broker, building and maintaining strong relationships, and underwriting risks in accordance with company guidelines and standards.


  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote our products to an exclusive wholesale broker.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, agents, and internal teams, to drive business growth and retention.
  • Evaluate and underwrite P&C risks, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze and interpret data to determine risks and potential exposures.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging risks to identify opportunities for product enhancement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to assess and price risks effectively while maintaining profitability targets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and delivering timely underwriting decisions.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
  • 2-8 years of experience in the Excess & Surplus Lines Insurance Industry
  • Strong knowledge of insurance principles, underwriting practices, and industry regulations.
  • Proven track record of building and managing relationships with brokers and agents.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to travel: 10 – 15%
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade stakeholders.
