By State law, all positions that work directly with minors require three background clearances to be obtained prior to the first day of work. You should allow 4-6 weeks to obtain all clearances. If you work for at least one month, we will reimburse for the cost of the clearances ($60.25) that are obtained for you to work for us. 2026 summer camps run from June 15 to July 24.
SUMMER CAMP ART SUPERVISOR
REPORTS TO: Summer Camp Coordinator and Program Manager
GIVES DIRECTION TO: Camp Counselors and Volunteers
NATURE OF WORK
This seasonal position directs arts and crafts activities for children in grades k - 3. The camp runs for six weeks in the summer (June 15 to July 24), Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., at four of the elementary schools. Work is performed with independent judgment under the general supervision of the Summer Camp Coordinator, the Program Manager and the Camp Supervisor. This position is not eligible for paid sick hours due to being a six week, seasonal position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Meets with Camp Supervisor during In-Service training to develop art projects that reflect the themed activity calendar for the summer.
  • Teaches, leads and supervises art and craft activities at the camp
  • Inventory all arts and crafts materials.
  • Assist the Camp Supervisor as needed.
  • Maintains regular and punctual attendance.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Performs all other work as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Clear understanding of recreational department activities and procedures.
  • Interpersonal skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Experience organizing youth activities is preferred.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid preferred.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL JOB FUNCTIONS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk, bend, stoop; use hands to handle, or feel equipment and supplies. The employee is required to sit at times on the floor or ground with children and reach with hands and arms. The employee will need to be able to stand for up to 3 hours, engage in play with camp participants, and be able to run after the camper if they attempt to leave the camp location. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Requires normal range of hearing, eyesight and verbal communications to record, prepare and communicate appropriate camper activities.
