The Programย Managerย for the SSGย Foxย Suicideย Preventionย Grantย Programย (SPGP)ย playsย aย pivotalย roleย inย theย implementationย andย managementย of grant-funded initiatives aimed at reducing suicide ratesย amongย veterans,ย particularly focusing on the SSG Foxย SPGPย demographic. This position involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the grant program,ย monitoring fiscal compliance, maintaining accurate documentation to meet federal reporting standards, ensuring all expenditures align with allowable costs under federal guidelines,ย coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the effective delivery of suicide prevention services to veterans. The Programย Managerย reports to theย Chief Impact Officerย and works closely withย Clear Path'sย grantย management team,ย Veteran Support Services Team,ย VA officials, community partners, and mental health professionals.

Management of SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program

  1. Leadย theย planning,ย implementation,ย and evaluationย ofย suicideย preventionย programsย andย activities funded by the SSG Foxย SPGP.
  2. Developย detailedย projectย plans,ย timelines,ย andย budgetsย inย accordanceย withย grantย requirementsย and organizational goals.
  3. Monitorย grantย expenditures,ย trackย progressย againstย objectives,ย andย prepareย regularย reportsย for submission to the VA and other stakeholders.
  4. Workย closelyย withย subjectย matterย expertsย toย designย andย implementย evidence-basedย suicideย prevention interventions tailored to the unique needs of veterans.
  5. Coordinateย theย deliveryย ofย mentalย healthย services,ย peerย supportย programs,ย crisisย intervention,ย andย other supportive services to veterans at risk of suicide.
  6. Ensureย thatย programย activitiesย alignย withย theย objectivesย ofย theย SSGย Foxย SPGPย grantย and adhere to relevant regulations and guidelines.
  7. Produce mid-year and EOY program performance and fiscal reports in collaboration with our grant managementย and finance/accountingย teams.
  8. Facilitate bi-weekly Care Coordination meetings with the SSG Fox Team.
  9. Function as the primary point of contact for annual program audits,ย facilitatingย timelyย communication with auditors and ensuring complete andย accurateย submission of all requested documentation, operational processes, and fiscal reports to VAย representatives
  10. Engage with SSG Fox SPGP Peer Mentorsย dailyย to oversee service plan implementation, keep client filesย accurateย and current, and support team members in their peer service delivery.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationships
  1. Cultivateย andย maintainย collaborativeย relationshipsย withย VAย officials,ย veteranย serviceย organizations, mental health providers, and community agencies/coalitions involved in suicide prevention efforts.
  2. Serveย asย theย primaryย pointย ofย contactย forย grant-relatedย inquiries,ย communications,ย andย coordination with external partners.
  3. Facilitateย internal and external meetings,ย workshops,ย andย trainingsย to promoteย informationย sharing,ย collaboration,ย andย best practices in suicide prevention.
  4. Raiseย awareness,ย through a targeted outreach strategy for suicideย preventionย resourcesย andย servicesย availableย toย SSGย Foxย veteransย and their families through outreach activities, public awareness campaigns, and media engagements.
  5. Advocateย forย policiesย andย fundingย initiativesย thatย supportย suicideย preventionย effortsย andย addressย the unique needs of SSG Fox veterans within the VA system and beyond.
  6. Representย Clearย Pathย forย Veteransย atย communityย events,ย conferences,ย andย meetings to promote collaboration and partnership opportunities.
Administrative and Miscellaneous
  1. Workย with Program Directorsย and the Executiveย Leadershipย teamย toย developย andย manageย the coordination of programs and services related to the SSG Fox SPGP.
  2. Establishย dataย collectionย proceduresย toย monitorย programย outcomes,ย includingย changesย inย suicideย rates, ย ย utilizationย of services, and participant feedback.
  3. Maintainย accurateย recordsย ofย programย activities,ย expenditures,ย andย outcomes,ย andย ensureย compliance with grant reporting requirements.
  4. Analyzeย programย dataย toย identifyย trends,ย successes,ย andย areasย forย improvement,ย andย useย findingsย to inform programmatic decisions and strategies.
  5. Maintainย accurateย dataย onย allย clientย leads,ย existingย accounts,ย andย otherย client-relatedย activitiesย using the VA Data Collection Tool,ย Salesforceย and related processes.
  6. Ensureย programย surveysย are administered to all SSG Fox SPGP participants asย requiredย toย measureย outcomesย andย impact.

Collect data and information regarding program outputs to include, but not limited to, the number of veterans and family members served, demographic data, and other metrics as requested by the leadershipย teamย inย reportย formย using the VA SSG Fox SPGP Data Collection Tool, VA SSG Fox SPGP data dashboards andย Salesforce.

  1. Master's degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field, OR bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, public health, or a related field combined with relevant work experience with veterans with mental health issues.
  2. Previous experience in program coordination, project management, or grant administration, preferably in the field of veteran services or mental health.
  3. Knowledge of suicide prevention principles, interventions, and best practices, with a focus on serving veterans and their families.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including veterans, VA officials, nonprofit organizations, and government agencies.
  5. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Sensitivity to the unique experiences and needs of veterans at risk of suicide, with a commitment to providing culturally competent and inclusive services.
