Subrogation Adjusters spend their days reviewing claim files, investigating the circumstances surrounding losses, and determining liability for potential recovery opportunities. They frequently communicate with other insurers, claimants, witnesses, and sometimes legal professionals to gather information or negotiate settlements. Daily work also includes documenting findings, drafting demand letters, and managing a caseload using specialized claims software. This role requires strong attention to detail and effective multitasking, as managing multiple cases and deadlines is common.
To thrive as a Subrogation Adjuster, you need strong analytical skills, knowledge of insurance claims processes, and a background in legal or insurance fields, often supported by relevant certifications. Familiarity with claims management software, subrogation systems, and document management tools is highly valuable. Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills help you effectively recover funds and collaborate with internal and external parties. These abilities are essential to ensure efficient resolution of subrogation claims and maximize recoveries for employers or clients.
A Subrogation Adjuster investigates and recovers money from third parties who are responsible for insurance claims. They review claims, gather evidence, negotiate settlements, and work with legal teams if necessary. Their goal is to minimize financial losses for the insurance company by ensuring responsible parties reimburse covered claims. Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills are essential in this role.
