Job description

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Good health, high moral character, good attendance record
  • Proficiency in office procedures, typing, and machines
General Description:
Assists in reviewing, processing and maintenance of personnel records and facilitates accurate and efficient communication of personnel information. Provides secretarial services to certified/classified staff: typing, correspondence, filing, duplicating materials; telephone communication. Provide staff in assistance with Red Rover in regards to absences and operation of the Red Rover system.
Essential Functions:
  • Respects confidentiality of information.
  • Maintains professionalism and good office rapport.
  • Is knowledgeable in the activities and performance of those certified/classified staff to whom he/she is responsible.
  • Reviews and processes required documents from prospective new hires and substitutes in preparation for Governing Board approval.
  • Prepares and distributes monthly Governing Board approved substitute lists to local school districts.
  • Processes and submits new employee BCI/FBI background checks for Wood County ESC, local school district, and other agencies.
  • Assists with processing of paperwork for ODE certification and licensure for Wood County ESC employees and local school districts. Assists with maintaining database in said licensure and documents.
  • Reviews and maintains up-to-date files regarding mandatory paperwork for existing employees.
  • Operates office machines as necessary and makes decisions concerning the best way to reproduce materials.
  • Duplicates and collates materials under the direction of certified/classified staff.
  • Prepares and maintains files under the direction of certified/classified staff.
  • Perform Red Rover duties for substitution purposes.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings;
  • Helps instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values; and
  • Conducts other duties related to the Personnel Secretary's/Sub Management Coordinator duties as assigned by the Superintendent of the Educational Service Center.
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue.
  • Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions.
  • Occasional interaction among unruly children.
