WHAT WE'RE DOING
At Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin Company, we are at the forefront of designing and manufacturing advanced helicopters for both commercial and military missions. Our Aerostructures group, based in Bridgeport, CT is dedicated to the structural assembly of our fixed-wing aircraft. THE WORK
Lead and manage the performance of salary and hourly manufacturing employees responsible for the manufacture and assembly of Aerostructures components.
Deliver consistent communication to the facility salary and hourly workforce to maintain a safe workplace & enforce EH&S regulations within the operation.
Identify, lead, foster and maintain LEAN principles in the manufacture of production and development Aerostructures components and assemblies.
Coordinate daily with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Management and Production Control support members on a continuous basis to ensure required support is assigned to maintain production flow in support of on-time, on budget defect free deliverables.
Coach and mentor employees in key positions to ensure that objectives are being met and ideas are being fostered throughout the shop.
Ensure that a positive employee relations position is maintained promoting teamwork and cooperation, and the Company's management principles, policies, and programs are consistently practiced and work closely with Industrial Relationships support staff.
Identify facility / capital improvements needs and support completion of projects.
WHO WE ARE
The Sikorsky Aerostructures Product Center is responsible for the manufacture, procurement and assembly of helicopter airframe details, and structures. The Product Center has an immediate opening for an Operations Manager at our Bridgeport, CT facility where detail, plumbing, sub-assembly, and component assembly activities are conducted in support of UH/HH-60M, HH-60W and CH-53K components, spares and modification work.
WHO YOU ARE
This position is responsible for providing leadership and managing all aspects of the Bridgeport, CT facility operations including managing approximately a team of non-represented salary and represented hourly employees. Primary responsibilities include: leading all daily manufacturing operations activities, proactively developing and implementing effective process improvements, coordinating daily requirements for Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Management, Quality and Material Logistics support, development of methods, metrics and organizational goals to achieve on-time, on budget, defect free delivery of airframe structures and associated components.
