Make a Difference in Students' Lives—Even After Graduation

At New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS), our mission is to help students build successful careers. That commitment doesn't end when they graduate. We're looking for a compassionate, organized, and motivated Student Loan Advisor to help our graduates successfully manage their student loans and avoid default.

If you're passionate about helping people, enjoy solving problems, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

As the Student Loan Advisor, you'll serve as a trusted resource for current students and graduates by providing guidance, education, and support throughout the student loan repayment process. You'll play a key role in helping students understand their repayment options while supporting the school's compliance with federal default management requirements.

Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct entrance and exit loan counseling for students.
  • Monitor student loan default rates and support compliance with federal regulations.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with graduates during the federal default tracking period.
  • Assist current and former students in understanding repayment options, including deferment, forbearance, and other default prevention solutions.
  • Conduct financial literacy, budgeting, and student loan education workshops.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to default prevention activities.
  • Update and maintain student records and contact information.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, loan servicers, lenders, and guaranty agencies.
  • Perform skip tracing activities to locate borrowers when necessary.
  • Provide backup support to the Financial Aid Department during peak periods or staff absences.
  • Assist with tuition reimbursement plans and other student account matters.
  • Stay current on federal regulations and best practices related to student loan repayment and default prevention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who combines excellent customer service with strong organizational skills and enjoys helping others find solutions.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in credit, collections, financial aid, or a related field.
  • Some post-secondary education or relevant professional training preferred.
Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • A self-motivated, dependable, and proactive work style.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • A positive, student-focused approach with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • A commitment to helping students achieve successful repayment outcomes while maintaining compliance with federal requirements.
