The Strategic Sourcing Category Manager will develop, implement and maintain a category sourcing and inventory strategy that supports enterprise and Supply Chain objectives. This role will advise internal stakeholders on critical supply decisions, and will combine analytical thinking with hands-on implementation to develop solutions to the most complex inventory/sourcing categories.

Includes category management strategies and execution, negotiation, risk management, inventory management and supply base performance management. Responsibilities Inventory Management/Optimization: Subject matter expert on reducing cost (contracting, utilization and inventory). Optimize inventory and product mix to support hospital while lowering overall cost to the system.

Manage implementation, utilization and maintenance of perpetual inventory system to ensure accurate capture of replenishment and patient charge transactions. Work with Materials Management/Logistics to optimize storage locations and implement new technologies to assist with inventory management and lot tracking/dating. Maintain effective communication with all internal and external customers.

Category Management: Develop and implement category strategic plans. Develop policies, procedures and implement best practices in category management. Understand new technology and the impact to strategic plans within the category.

Develop/manage consignment inventory programs where appropriate within category. Vendor/Contract Management: Maintain positive vendor trade relations and develop strategic alliances. Negotiations/Contract Management: Conduct RFP's as required and negotiates Strategic contracts for specific product categories.

Other duties as assigned: Incumbents will be assigned to one or more of these additional areas in addition to their assigned supply chain category management duties. o Diversity Supplier Program o Reptrax system management o Recall Management processes Qualifications Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience (6-10 years). Preferred: Master's Degree Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.

Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) preferred. Minimum Required: 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience. Preferred: 6- 10 Years equivalent experience.
