Strategic Planning Manager

Brown Brothers Harriman is currently recruiting a Strategic Planning Manager to join its Strategic Planning Group within the Investor Services business. This role is responsible for shaping and executing strategic priorities across product strategy and investment governance within Investor Services. In this role, you will align business growth with our strategic areas of focus, while ensuring disciplined investment decisions that support long-term value creation. Operating at the center of strategy, finance, product and risk, you will influence senior stakeholders and drive integrated decision-making across the organization.
Key responsibilities:
Investment strategy and governance
  • Lead the development and prioritization of the investment portfolio to maximize return on investment and support strategic goals
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to guide investment decisions, balancing growth opportunities with financial and operational considerations
  • Drive transparency, discipline and consistency in investment planning, prioritization and execution
  • Lead, coach, and develop one direct report by setting clear objectives, providing timely feedback, and supporting continued growth, engagement, and performance
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing team environment by setting priorities, promoting accountability, and building capability in support of strategic business objectives

Product and business strategy alignment
  • Establish a strategic partnership with core product areas (i.e., custody, fund services, transfer agency) to align long-term priorities with broader business objectives
  • Ensure integration of product strategy, pricing, balance sheet usage and investment priorities
  • Leverage analytics and insights to identify opportunities to strengthen product positioning and performance

Strategic execution and governance
  • Integrate insights across strategy, finance, product and risk to deliver cohesive, enterprise-level outcomes
  • Influence senior governance forums through clear, data-driven insights and strategic recommendations
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders to ensure effective execution of strategic initiatives

Knowledge and skills
  • 10+ years of financial services experience with strong exposure to asset servicing and product strategy
  • Proven ability to lead complex strategic initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with a focus on value creation
  • Highly analytical, with the ability to translate complexity into clear strategic direction
  • Deep understanding of the asset servicing landscape and related operational and regulatory considerations

Salary Range
MA: $140,000 - $190,000 base salary + annual target bonus
