Job Summary:

The Strategic Accounts Sales Supervisor oversees daily sales activities and supports the Strategic Accounts team serving build-to-rent, multifamily, and regional builder customers

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises the 1-4 Strategic Accounts Sales Representatives.

  • Oversees the day-to-day workflow of the Strategic Accounts Build-to-Rent and regional builder sales.
  • Assists with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training staff within the department.
  • Addresses employee concerns and escalates performance or disciplinary issues in accordance with company policy.
  • Supports pricing and account management activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Travels throughout assigned area to call on regular and prospective customers at jobsites, sales offices, or other locations to solicit orders for existing customers and/or generates new accounts.

  • Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on business directories, industry ads, trade shows, websites and requests.
  • Maintains book of business by building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Responds to concerns and questions of prospective and existing customers by using consultative selling methods to determine needs and develop creative solutions to problems within the constraints of the store operations.
  • Assists customers with product questions and purchases
  • Prepares Sales Orders.
  • Prepares reports of business transactions, including weekly sales call log, mileage, and expenses.
  • Works with and through corporate, store and commercial management and employees to facilitate sales expectations and company service standards.
  • Supports the growth of Build-to-Rent sales from regional builders.
  • Focuses on listening to the customer, identifying their goals for service and products, and answering, and solving their problems.
  • Maintains relationships with key vendors to establish consistent product supply.
  • Sets up and leads builder meetings, vendor meetings and prepares presentations as required to show McCoy's ability to serve and grow existing and new business.
  • Tracks and communicates targets, records growth potential and maintains customer information to continue to grow each strategic account.
  • Attends meetings and training courses as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of retail operations and sales strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Working knowledge of company's proprietary point of sale solution, and MAC21.
  • Must have a current driver's license and auto liability insurance.
  • Occasional overnight travel is required.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or another industry-related field or equivalent training and experience is required.
  • Three to five years of experience in retail sales is required.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at times.
