Job description

The Operations Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Culver Eagle Outfitters across multiple retail locations and online channels. This position assists with sales performance, operational execution, and retail clerk oversight while providing leadership for part-time and seasonal employees. The role also supports retail systems functionality and is responsible for the setup and operational execution of seasonal store locations (Culver Museum & Gift Shop and Woodcraft Eagle Outpost).

Operational & Supervisory
•    Assist in overseeing day-to-day operations across all store locations and online channels 
•    Supervise and coordinate seasonal and part-time employees, including scheduling and daily oversight 
•    Support opening and closing responsibilities 
•    Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders
•    Train and supervise staff

Sales & Business Operations
•    Monitor sales trends and seasonal demand to support inventory planning and operational decisions 
•    Identify slow-moving products and recommend markdown or promotional strategies 
•    Assist with ordering weekly and high-turnover merchandise (e.g., food, beverages, personal care items) 
•    Prepare month-end reporting for Retail Manager and provide recommendations for operational improvements 
•    Analyze customer purchasing behavior to support targeted promotions 
•    Evaluate pricing strategies in collaboration with Retail Manager 

Systems & Technical Coordination
•    Monitor and troubleshoot point-of-sale (POS) and e-commerce system issues 
•    Coordinate with Technical Services and vendors to resolve system-related concerns 
•    Support system accuracy, functionality, and day-to-day usability across store operations 

Seasonal & Multi-Location Operations
•    Lead the setup, merchandising, and operational readiness of seasonal retail locations, including inventory transfer and coordination of product flow 
•    Support execution of retail operations across multiple locations and special events 

Compliance & Process Support
•    Ensure compliance with safety, loss-prevention, and inventory control practices 
•    Assist with implementing and developing policies and procedures 
•    Assist with preparation for cycle counts and physical inventories 
•    Maintain store standards, organization, and cleanliness 

Other Duties
•    Perform cash register duties as required.
•    May be asked to work other campus store locations and events.
•    Occasional evenings and weekends required based on operational needs.

REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing or equivalent experience is required. It is preferred that candidates have experience in retail analytics, inventory management, or business intelligence. Experience using Shopify is desired. Must have excellent administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills, and highly developed computer skills. An aptitude for numbers, safe cash handling procedures, and a demonstrated ability to build relationships using vital customer service and communication skills are essential to success in this position. This position requires the ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.
