Job description

We're partnering with a well-known consumer retail organization to hire a Store Operations Specialist to support their Field Engagement & Events team for a 3-month contract in Columbus, Ohio. This is an excellent opportunity for a retail professional who enjoys supporting store teams, coordinating field initiatives, and helping deliver meaningful associate and customer experiences. The ideal candidate has prior retail experience, strong organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.


Location: Columbus, OH (onsite)

Duration: 3-month contract w/ potential to extend

Hours: 40 hours/week

Pay Rate: $24/hour


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and execution of store operations initiatives, including new store openings, associate engagement programs, and in-store events.
  • Coordinate event logistics, timelines, materials, and communications to ensure successful execution across the field organization.
  • Partner with store teams, field leaders, and cross-functional departments to support operational readiness and event implementation.
  • Track project milestones, manage calendars, and maintain detailed project documentation and reporting.
  • Assist with vendor coordination, invoice processing, budget tracking, and expense management.
  • Communicate updates, action items, and key deliverables to stakeholders across the business.
  • Support pilot programs and field engagement initiatives designed to enhance the store and associate experience.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues while ensuring projects remain on schedule and aligned with business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of retail operations, field support, and event coordination experience
  • Previous experience working in a retail store environment is required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with store teams, field leadership, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting employee engagement programs, store events, or operational projects is a plus.
